Wool is not only REUSABLE but also BIODEGRADABLE

Bedouins (desert dwellers) have worn sheep wool and sheep wool fabric blend for centuries. Hmm... I guess they have known about the secrets of wool for a very long time.

Sheep Wool has an incredible natural UV PROTECTION built right in. The same cannot be said for man-made fabrics.

Wool is Big Business

In medieval England, wool was big business. England also had an extraordinary appetite for wine which was purchased from wealth produced by the wool trade with Flanders. Everyone who had land, from peasants to major landowners, raised sheep.

All round the world today British wool is recognized as a superb natural product and increased demand for wool products, especially from places like China, has caused the price to rise by 34% in the past year alone.

Black Sheep of the Family

If a black lamb was born it was always sold for meat because, for hundreds of years, they could not dye black wool. Hence the phrase, 'black sheep of the family'.

About Us

For a fantastic day out on Bank Holiday Monday the 25th May 2020, set your sights on the lovely market town of Shipston on Stour, in Warwickshire, where the annual Wool Fair is on from 10am to 4pm. It’s a great day out for all ages with lots of things to see and do. A Sheep and Wool Fair was held every year up to the mid 1800s but the tradition died out until 2009, when it was resurrected for the first time in 150 years by the late Mayor elect, Angela Noyce. It was so successful that a group of volunteers have run the Wool Fair every year since. It’s now entering its eleventh year and will be bigger better and woollier than ever.
